Sustainability Links – Week 19

Plastic in the Mariana Trench and garment workers wages. Sustainability at festivals

Atlas and Ortus Hello, how are you?

It’s almost time for the festival season! I firmly believe there is a festival for everyone. I’m a fan of food, eco and music festivals but don’t make me stay in a tent. Not happening! Something that should bind all festivals is the sustainability impact. There is so so much waste generated by these festivals, I keep seeing this link to an article about single-use tents. Basically people not bothering to pack up their tents after the festival ends. As well as leaving all their other plastic waste strewn around the field.

Atlas and Ortus are a brand trying to slow down the waste problem, by providing reusable alternatives. They are going to be at Glastonbury this year but need a little help raising the money to do it – if you need a reusable bottle, cup or lunchbox, check out their #PitchInToPitchUp crowdfunder here.

Here are your sustainability links for the week!
