More Capsule Winter Outfits

From the past week!Outfits by The Green Edition

At the start of the year, I decided to keep a log of the outfits I was wearing. That didn’t go to plan so I decided to photolog them instead. My main comment from this week is that I’m getting bored with black tights! I bought a few pairs from Swedish Stockings at the start of the cold weather. They have held up really well but I think I might invest in a few different designs and colours next winter. Most of the clothes this week are from my winter capsule wardrobe unless otherwise noted.

A Week Of Winter Outfits

I’m quite particular when it comes to trainers with skirts (above). Basically, I only wear them if the skirt is quite short or long. However, most of my skirts are midi length and just don’t look great with trainers. I’ll leave that look to people who are taller! Anyway, this People Tree dress looks good with them. It’s the third time in three weeks I’ve worn the dress and I’m finding it quite easy to style in different ways.

This is a blouse that I’ve had for a year or two from Thought Clothing. I generally wear it pretty standard but this time I’ve turned it back to front and tied the excess material into a rose shape using a hair bobble. Just tuck the ends in so it’s not visible! It changes up the blouse without a need for buying a new top.

A standard jumper and jeans combo with a hint of Breton peaking out. I wanted to wear my necklaces with this outfit to cheer it up a bit but I had mislaid them when I moved. Thankfully they have been found and the tangled mess has been sorted out. If anyone has any tips on necklace storage, let me know!

The bracelet on my wrist is actually a necklace – one that I could find! I don’t actually wear it that much although I do really like it. But it fits perfectly on my wrist if I double it up. It is made of a blue, sparkly gemstone and was a gift from my husband around ten years ago. The receipt is still the storage pouch so I could check the actual date instead of guessing! I checked and it was 2007!

I borrowed this jumper from my husband’s wardrobe, with his permission of course! It’s a lovely warm brown colour from the men’s section of Everlane. Unfortunately, they didn’t do the same colour in the women’s jumpers, not that I saw anyway. It’s definitely a more oversized fit, which is more noticeable in the shoulders and arms. I quite like an oversized fit but it’s something to think about if you are shopping from the menswear section.

So it rained the entire Sunday! Thankfully I bought this new raincoat which I spoke about already here. Basically, the online version states it is made from organic cotton but the instore doesn’t. Anyway, I’ve worn it now so can’t take it back if it turns out not to be organic. I do love it anyway.

If I had to pick my winter uniform, this would be it. Some people might think that skirts are fussy but I actually feel more comfortable wearing them than jeans. The boots are from Everlane. They are a transparent company that are taking steps to become more sustainable. The shoe quality is exceptionally good, I’ve worn these boots so many times and they are perfect for stomping around Berlin.
