Every year Australia Day is celebrated in Australia on the 26th January. This year Perth has experienced an extremely hot day, with most of its population sweltering in record heat. A lot of families headed for our world renowned beaches in an effort to keep cool. Fewer families than usual headed for the Swan River for a family picnic.

The day ended with this beautiful sunset.
