Rottnest Island - The Peacock

Rottnest Island ... as proud as a peacock ...
While visiting Rottnest Island recently we were thrilled when the resident peacock decided to display his beautiful, iridescent tail.
As the cameras clicked, the peacock's demeanour oozed confidence. He knew everyone was enraptured with his display.
Peacocks are large, colourful pheasants.
Together, peacocks and peahens are called peafowl.
Peafowl are ground feeders. They eat seeds, insects, plants and small creatures.
They nest on the ground and lay 3-5 eggs.
