Roses - Stop and Smell the Roses
October 19th 2010 13:14
I love roses.
I love walking through a rose garden and being delighted by its beauty and fragrance.
Roses are perennial.
They can be grown in big gardens or on small patios.
They thrive in an open, sunny and well drained position and they prefer clay-based, heavy soils.
Rose plants come in many sizes - compact, ground covers, shrubs, tea roses, standards, climbers.
They are cut and used fresh in vases, wreaths and bouquets.
They are used to decorate rooms and dinner tables.
Roses are dried and can be used in pot pourri.
Books, poems and articles have been inspired by roses.
