Noah's Ark?
In Bibical times, God instructed Noah to construct an Ark. He was disgusted with the declining morality on earth and vowed to destroy what he had made and start over. Noah was instructed to gather a pair of of each creature on earth, along with his family and go aboard the Ark and wait for a massive flood. After it had rained forty days and forty nights, the rain stopped. The entire earth was flooded and as the water started to go down, God sent a dove with his promise to never again destroy his people in this manner.
Has the need for the Ark come again? Scientists predict that the state of California may need to brace for another flood that will rival the great flood of 1861-1862. After forty-five days of rain, California became an inland sea. Can it happen again?
California is currently in the grip of a year's long drought. Why would anyone be watching for a flood? Renowned scientists are preparing a scenario where California is hit by another massive flood, comparable to the one of 1861-62. Strengthened by the affects of global warming and jet stream, California could be hit by extreme winter rainfall, along with episodes of extreme hot and dry weather in the summer months. The deadly episodes of wildfires will make the threat of extreme flooding and mudslides even more of a problem.
The $3 million-dollar Ark project includes 100 scientists and and possible in 2010,
The La Crescenta flood of 1934 killed forty-five people and destroyed four hundred homes and left boulders up to 70 tons strewn around the area.
Maybe we need to start a search for Noah in California and suggest rather strongly that he start construction of a very large Ark in a hurry.
Umbrella's anyone?
